Brian E. Kennedy-Arenivar, LMHC

My name is Brian E. Kennedy-Arenivar, I am a compassionate and non-judgmental psychotherapist. I provide everyone with a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. I have always been told that I am a good listener and people consistently tell me that they feel comfortable opening up to me.

I meet everyone where they are when they arrive at my office. I will work with you to understand, from your perspective, what has brought you to psychotherapy at this time.

My areas of expertise include: anxiety, depression, life adjustments, trauma, ADHD, autism, and substance usage. I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and I have extensive experience working with adults, adolescents, and children who identify as trans. I am also a member of WPATH. I provide play therapy with younger clients by using games and/or art.

I have been licensed as a psychotherapist since 2009 and I have worked with diverse populations in outpatient clinics and in private practice. My approach is grounded in Depth Psychology, specifically, Analytical Psychology. I am currently an analyst in training with the C.G. Jung Institute of New York. I initially began my analytic training with the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA) in 2018. I also have years of intensive training in Jungian Sandplay Therapy.

If you are seeking a therapist who will provide unwavering support, respect, and empowerment on your journey of self-discovery and personal growth, then I invite you to reach out and take the first step towards creating positive change in your life.

What to expect.

We all put stuff off. Especially, if it has to do with something that is unfamiliar to us. Up until today, this may have kept you from making contact with a psychotherapist. The first step to seeing someone can be the most difficult. Just know that it does not have to be.

First, you will schedule a 15-minute free phone consultation. You can do so by finding a day and time through my scheduling page. If you do not see something that works for your schedule, please reach out by email through my website. You will receive a faster response by email.

During the phone consultation I will be able to find out the specific reason you are seeking services. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and to learn a bit more about my practice.

We will then schedule an intake appointment if we both feel like it might be a good fit. During the phone call I will explain the process of an intake.

Fees

I do not accept insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider. I will provide you with a monthly statement (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement.
